Purpose of the "about" page[]
I think the "About" page should be used to give an overall perspective on the purpose and management of this wiki. So this is about the wiki and not about Icarus Verilog. (After all, "Icarus Verilog" is what the wiki is about.)
The Main Page has some paragraphs in the beginning that introduce Icarus Verilog and gives tips on navigating the rest of the Wiki, including prerequisites; it points the viewer to this "about" page in order to put off the "what" and "how" of Wikis.
ABOUT was wiped out?[]
Something happened to cause this entire page to be wiped out. I restored it, but it would be nice if whoever was 74.128.140.114 please explain what happened.

The entire ABOUT page was wiped out again, this time by 217.29.240.36, again an anonymous editer. Thank you Angela for reverting it, but I suspect we have a vandal on our hands. I will see what I can go about protecting this page.
The first ip (74.128.140.114) is a USA address (Insight Comm) and the second (217.29.240.36) is an address in Amman, Jordan (Applied Science University jordan). On the surface, not much in common between them, other then the m/o.

- We had a vandal bot blanking pages on a few different wikis. It was always using the edit summary "unknown", so we've just implemented a new feature that allows staff to block particular edit summaries. Hopefully this will resolve the problem. Angela talk 15:34, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
