Hi guys. I have a slightly different question. I just now came to know that its only version 0.8 icarus verilog that supports synthesis. Unfortunately I installed ver 0.9 through the ubuntu repositories and I could not do anything about it. Is there anything i can do to install ver 0.8? Where do I get it from for Ubuntu 11.04 natty narwhal edition?

This is the main page for the

''Icarus Verilog''[http://www.icarus.com/eda/verilog]

documentation.

From here, branch out to the different sorts of documentation you are looking for.

In all cases, the documentation is in

wiki form, so that you can update or improve it (although I encourage discussion first

before making major changes.)

This wiki in general presumes at least a basic working

knowledge of the hardware description language Verilog. For

basic information about the purpose and provenance of the

language itself, the best starting point is the Wikipedia

article [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verilog here].

If you are looking to learn the language in detail, then

there are many books on the subject.

And of course ultimately it all comes down to the official

language reference,

[http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/ISOL/standardstoc.jsp?punumber=10779 IEEE Std 1364-2005] (''not free'')

from the IEEE.
