Simbus is a set of programs and libraries for supporting distributed simulation of systems that use bus protocols to connect major components. For example, you can use simbus to simulate a PCI-based system with each PCI device on a different processor or computer. Simbus takes care of communications and synchronization between devices on the bus. All you need to do it interface your device to the bus using the supplied binding library.
