Icarus Verilog

Any discussion on better ways to structure this top level page?

Perhaps you could have 2 columns instead of one? See Wikia:Template:Main for an example format. Angela talk 08:24, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

I was just browsing and noted that you don't explain what Verilog is commonly used for. This is essential for keeping visitors, if you plan on attracting clueless newbies like me who don't even know what they would use it for. A link to the Wikipedia article seems to be the minimum requirement IMO. --Jesdisciple (talk) 03:29, June 23, 2010 (UTC)

If you read the second paragraph on the main page you will find the following:

This wiki in general presumes at least a basic working knowledge of the hardware description language Verilog. For basic information about the purpose and provenance of the language itself, the best starting point is the Wikipedia article here <this is a link to wikipedia>. If you are looking to learn the language in detail, then there are many books on the subject.

I think that answers everything. This is not and never will be a newbie help site. This is about the Icarus implementation of Verilog and covers how to use the simulator not how to design hardware with Verilog. Think of this like you would a gcc wiki. It's about the tool not the language.

My apologies, I thought I had read more carefully than that. --Jesdisciple (talk) 05:02, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Not a problem. When I have some free time I'll check to see if this can be reworked to be more clear.
